Our rheumatologists treat degenerative bone diseases (osteoarthritis) as well as inflammatory bone diseases(rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis ...). They also treat abarticular pathologies (muscular, tendinous and ligamentous).

Their number one field remains pathologies related to sports practices: • shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, or foot tendonitis; • knee pathology: sprain, meniscal pathology, or early osteoarthritis; • hip pathology; • lumbago, or sciatic pathologies.

RHEUMATOLOGY AT LMM

The main axis of rheumatology is to manage pain.

This specialty affects the musculoskeletal system, which is more commonly called bones, joints, muscles but also tendons and ligaments.

The rheumatologist, specialist in rheumatology, is responsible for diagnosing the diseases of these parts of the body following a detailed interrogation, a precise clinical examination, possibly completed with an osteo-articular ultrasound, and for prescribing an appropriate treatment.

Sometimes, the rheumatologist also treats peripheral neurological conditions such as sciatica or various inflammations.
